Achieve athlete Kaveh Pourmehr recently accomplished a big goal: Everesting Mt. Tam’s Railroad Grade on a mountain bike. If you’re not familiar, the Everesting Challenge asks riders to climb the elevation of Mt. Everest (29,029 feet) in a single effort on the same stretch of road. That means no sleeping, minimal stopping and riding the same climb over and over.
Coach Dana Williams sat down with the 17-year-old rider to talk shop about his epic 21-hour, 195-mile hardman triumph. Hear how Kaveh made it through the challenge and his top tips to riders who want to give it a try.
