Achieve Athletes

Kyle Yugawa

Currently live in:

San Francisco, CA

Achieve athlete since:

October 2014

Top accomplishments and/or results since being an Achieve athlete are:

Can’t quite say yet.

The best part about being an Achieve athlete is:

Just started…not sure yet.

The aspect I like most about cycling and/or racing is:

It is a way to clear my head of the stresses of the week. It makes me feel better.

Racing: I like the structure and focus that it requires and the dynamics of it. I also like being competitive.

My favourite bike is:

My Franco Road Bike. It is my go-to bike for just about everything. Training. Racing. Casual riding. Its my only road bike and I don’t feel like I need another one.

The cycling/sporting accomplishment I’m most proud of is:

I completed the Haute Route Alps in 2013 and completed the Coast Ride in 2014.

If I could be one animal I would be a:

A Mongoose. Fast and sneaky.

Of the following three facts, two are true and one is false:

I love Spam.
12 years of Judo and Jiu-jitsu.
Surfed all my life.

My goals for the 2014 season include:

Upgrade to Cat 3 by June.
5 top-3 finishes in 2015.
Improve my threshold by 5-10% By August.
Improve my sprint skills and tactics
Be able to be competitive in races with short climbs (Sea Otter circuit, Santa Cruz, Nevada City, San Rafael, etc).
